Claim Timelines — Keep Every Project Moving

Aug 11, 2026

Claims do not finish themselves. After the writeup is ready, work still has to move through client approval, filing with the CRA, and payment—and it is easy for a quiet project to sit longer than anyone intended.

This release adds Timelines on each claim so consultants can see the next deadline at a glance, act before it slips, and trust SREDr to keep the project moving when a date passes.

What you get on each claim

Open a claim’s Details tab. The Timelines card shows three milestones:

MilestoneWhile the claim is…What it means
Approval dueIn ReviewDeadline for client feedback and sign-off before the claim can be filed. Approve when the client is ready, or let SREDr mark it Approved when the date arrives. Change the date anytime if you need more time.
Filing dueApprovedDeadline to file the claim with the CRA. File when ready, or let SREDr mark it Filed when the date arrives. Change the date anytime if you need more time.
Payment dueFiledWhen payment is due — SREDr raises the fee invoice at this date. Mark Paid when the client pays you, or let SREDr mark it Paid when the date arrives. Change the date anytime if you need more time.

Each milestone shows how many days are left (or how overdue it is). You can edit the date and time in your local timezone, then Save. Later milestones cannot be set before earlier ones, and deadlines cannot be moved into the past.

You can still approve, file, or mark paid manually at any time before the deadline. If a stage needs more time, push its due date forward on Timelines — the schedule is a safety net, not a gate.

Staying on top of the work

Timelines are meant for day-to-day claim hygiene:

  • See which claims are waiting on client approval, CRA filing, or payment without hunting through status alone.
  • Spot overdue stages quickly from the countdown on the claim.
  • Keep a shared picture of “what happens next” for you and your team.
  • Get email notices when a claim reaches a new stage, plus reminders when a claim has been waiting in review or is close to its filing date.

When a deadline passes and the claim is still on that stage, SREDr advances it automatically. That way a project does not stall just because nobody clicked the button on the exact day. If you need more time before that happens, change the due date on Timelines anytime.

Defaults for your practice

Agency admins can set how long each stage should run by default for your practice. Those defaults seed a claim’s schedule when it enters review. Changing the defaults does not rewrite claims that already have dates—you adjust those on the claim’s Timelines card when you need to.

Where to look

  1. Open any claim that is In Review or later.
  2. Go to Details → Timelines.
  3. Adjust dates if needed, then Save.

For practice-wide defaults, ask an agency admin to review the timeline day settings.
